Candle Care

Candle care is essential to ensure the safe and optimal use of your candles. Following the guidelines you've mentioned can help prolong your candle's life and maintain a steady, clean burn. Here's a summary of the important points:

1. When you light your candle for the first time, allow it to burn long enough for the entire surface of the wax to melt and pool to the edges of the container. This helps prevent tunneling, where the wax only melts in the center, leaving wax build-up along the sides.

2. Always keep the wick trimmed to about 5mm (approximately 1/4 inch). This ensures a steady flame and reduces issues like mushrooming (where carbon builds up on the tip of the wick) and soot.

3. After approximately 4 hours of burn time, trim the wick to the recommended length. This helps maintain an even burn and prevents the wick from getting too long, which can cause the flame to become too large or flicker excessively.

4. It's advisable to burn your candle for a maximum of 4 hours at a time. This is a safety precaution and also helps prevent the candle from generating too much heat, which can affect its quality and longevity.

5. Allow your candle to cool for at least 2 hours before relighting it. This ensures that the wax solidifies and the container cools down, reducing the risk of damage from excessive heat.

6. It's time to retire the candle Once the wax has burned down to about half an inch (or 1.27 cm). Burning it beyond this point can overheat the container and the surface it's sitting on, potentially causing damage or breakage.

Remember, candle safety is paramount. Never leave a burning candle unattended, keep it away from flammable objects, and place it on a heat-resistant surface. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions and safety guidelines specific to your candle.
